How many times have you seen celebrities’ significant others ride the wave of their fame? More times than you could count, right?
That’s why I have nothing but respect for the ones who choose to stay away from the spotlight and lead a simple life, chief among which is Laurie Holmond.
Despite being connected to one of the most influential musicians in the industry, she decided to remain nothing but a supporting mother and loving partner. That’s why I want you to appreciate her story.

Laurie Holmond isn’t just one of Snoop Dogg’s ex-girlfriends, she’s also the mother of one of his children.

Born In 1973, Laurie is 51 years old as of writing this post. Being the former lover of one of the most famous musicians in history, you’d think that the media would know everything about her.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Holmond managed to keep a low profile away from the cameras and headlines. I wouldn’t be writing this post if I didn’t have some solid information about her, though.
Laurie Holmond and Snoop Dogg
Laurie and Snoop lived a classic high school love story. They started as friends, quickly took a liking to each other, then became lovers. Life was all sunshine and rainbow—until June 1997.
On a fateful day, Laurie turned the radio on to learn that Snoop had gotten married to Shante Broadus. Naturally, she was angry and wanted nothing to do with the rapper anymore.
Unfortunately, curiosity kept eating at her.
Why did Snoop choose Shenta over her? What could she have done differently? These are all questions that Laurie needed answers to. So, she contacted Snoop and set up a meeting.
Little did she know that meeting would change her life forever.
You see, they started talking and one thing led to another—you can probably see where I’m going with this. They ended up procreating. Nine months later, they welcomed Julian Broadus.

I know what you’re thinking: “Did Snoop abandon his wife while she was giving birth?” No, he was with her in the hospital and even paid all the bills to show her that he was a responsible father.
Laurie Holmond’s Son
Look, you can doubt anything I write about Holmond in this post, but if there’s one thing you can be sure of, it’s that she did an excellent job raising her son.
Mother-Son Relationship
Although she kept a low profile in public, Holmond was always active in her son’s life. You can probably tell that Julian faced a lot of backlash for being a child of an affair. However, his mother gave him unwavering support and taught him to adopt a positive outlook.
Julian and Snoop Dogg
You can probably tell that Julian and Snoop’s relationship is complicated. Yes, Snoop didn’t really give him as much time as he gave his other children.
That doesn’t mean he was an absent father, though. In fact, Julian himself said that he held nothing but love and respect for his father, admitting that Snoop taught him to push himself beyond his limits every day.
He even shared a photo of Snoop and him when he was a toddler with the caption: “Paved the way so i can do anything i wanted💙”

Julian has dabbled in various industries over the years. Can you guess one of them? Yes, it’s music.
I know what you’re thinking: “He probably just used his dad’s name to break into the business.” No, Julian actively refused his dad’s help because he didn’t want people to think he didn’t deserve the opportunities he got.

Like his father, Julian didn’t stick to just music and quickly branched out to other businesses. What could be more interesting than music? Gaming, apparently.

Yes, he’s a creative director at Wam, a gaming platform that encourages users to compete in tournaments for digital assets. Sure, it’s different, but it’s still within the creative industry.
The next job, however, might be the most bizarre one. In 2020, Julian joined the Agents of LA, one of the most luxurious real estate companies in the city.

Although Holmond prefers to stay away from the spotlight, she’s still an active social media user, and she’s shared some of her biggest milestones with the public.
Philanthropist Endeavors
Like I said, Laurie is nothing but kind and generous. So, it’s only natural that she’d use whatever resources she has to help others.
In 2019, she celebrated her birthday by starting a fundraising campaign for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Isn’t that the sweetest?
Getting Engaged
Yes, Laurie decided to put her relationship with Snoop behind her and move on with someone else. So, in 2021, she shared her engagement photos with her loved ones on Facebook.
The identity of her fiancee remains mysterious, but that’s probably for the best. We don’t want him to get caught up in any drama.
Wrapping Up
Laurie Holmond hasn’t always had the most peaceful life, and I’d argue she faced more drama in her life than most people can handle.
Despite these turmoils, she wanted to remain a generous mother, a supportive partner, and a kind human. I think we can all agree that she made the best with what she was dealt.
